The Union of Elements as the Sacred Origin of Form and Spiritual Memory

I believe there are tons of people immediately close to you, those over border and people who teach you, who greatly influence your ideals, motives and beliefs greatly. Whether it’s your fifth grade teacher, someone you might have a conversation with on the street or just a family member themselves, all of these people help influence the way you think, act and behave as a member of society.

My beliefs stem from those immediately close to me- my family members -whom have made me see that mud isn’t dirty, nor repulsive, but it is something which all of us orginate from and where our roots are held.

Whether it’s spiritually, religiously or even physically and mentally, we all hold a deep connection wuth Mud around the world.  Islamically, we’re told in Surah As-Saffat and Surah Al-Hijr that we were indeed created from Mud and they hold deep significance in our creation as a whole. In the bible, we’re told in the old and new testament that man has been formed by the dust in the ground which is rhe foundation of our being.

I believe religion should be a basis of our ideals and that these examples  are something that I’m not using to impose beliefs, but to show that Mud is more than just wet soil; it’s a symbol of transformation, creation and it’s impermanence. This idea is expressed throughout cultures, beliefs and even religions around the world.

The Quran says:
Surah As-Saffat (37:11):
“Indeed, We created man from an extract of clay.”

Surah Al-Hijr (15:26):
“And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud.”

The Bible says:
Genesis 2:7 (Old Testament):
“Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”

“For dust you are and to dust you will return.” (Genesis 3:19)
