From dreaming to escape reality to dreaming to build reality.

I was wondering if there are people who consciously use dreams in the same way many people use alcohol—to escape into another world. Only recently have I started to realize that my dreaming patterns contain traces of escapism. But perhaps that’s exactly what nature intended for a powerful tool like the mind?

I don’t know exactly when it started, but I have been using sleep as a way to escape reality for a long time. Ever since I was a child, I’ve been weaving scenes of the life I wished to be in. I have always been a very conscious dreamer. Not only do I architect my own dreams, but I can also slip right back into specific scenes after a break, as if picking up a story where I left off.

More recently, I have started creating a space in my mind that feels closer to the world I truly want to be in. While I am still building it, the process requires effort—filling in the missing parts, expanding the details, and refining the experience. As of today, this world is still small. We barely occupy the tops of a few hills, where I move between certain houses. But I love being there. Especially in the morning hours, I have developed certain routines—almost like rituals—that make this place feel even more real.

My plan is to expand this world and, ideally, bring parts of it into my real life. At some point, I hope that both the world in my mind and the one I live in will be full of joy and excitement. I don’t know why, but at this stage in my life, I place a lot of importance on fun.
